MIT

Parents contribution and other fees can be made online and may be paid in instalments. The system we use for online payment is called MIT. A quick access to MIT can be found on the school website, on the right of the ‘Home’ page where you see this icon:

MIT can also be found by typing the following address into your browser: https://ams.enrol.ie/griffeencc/index.aspx

Please make sure when logging into the system that you use the email address from your child’s application form. Instructions for using the system are also available on the school website.

School Books

Under the Department of Education and Youth Book Scheme all students will be provided with books, a journal, workbooks and dictionaries for their subjects. All items remain the property of Griffeen Community College (including the journal). Any of these items, provided under the scheme, which are lost or damaged must be replaced by the parent/guardian.

Resource Lists

Under the Department of Education and Youth Book Scheme all students will be provided with resources for their classes. Once these resources are used up or if lost by students they must be replaced by the parent/guardian. The school cannot supply any student with a second set of resources. All parents must also provide their children with the basic requirements of pens, pencils and copies.

School Uniform

The school uniform is available to purchase from Schoolwear House. You may now purchase items online or by visiting the store in person.

Digital Device

Passwords:

It is strongly advised that as a parent, you have a record of your child’s password for logging into their Digital Devices. The college does not have a log of student passwords and therefore they cannot be recovered by our IT Department. The digital device will have to be returned to Wriggle in the event of forgotten logon details and therefore significant delays can result. Waiting on the return of the device will interfere with your child’s ability to participate in both school and home learning.

Updates to the Device:

Please make sure before returning to school in August that the digital device has been updated at home.

How do I Update the Digital Device?

On your child’s Digital Device:

  1. Go to settings
  2. Go to general
  3. Go to software update
  4. Download and install

TY and 5th year management fee for Wriggle:

Students entering Senior Cycle will need to have the management fee on their iPad updated. The new management fee will last for three years for students completing TY, 5th and 6th year, and for two years for students going directly into 5th Year.

Students that completed TY in 2024-25 should have already updated their management fee prior to entering that year and therefore should not need to take further action.

Information about the different bundles provided by wriggle are explained on our website under the at this link:SeniorCycleBundles. Updating Management Fees and purchasing new iPads can be completed at the link using the school code 66542309: Wriggle

Classroom Based Assessments (CBA’s)

All second- and third-year students will be participating in classroom-based assessments for their Junior Cycle. Dates will be confirmed and communicated with parents in the new school year. Please be mindful when booking holidays and try to avoid school term dates, as absences may coincide with your child’s assessment time. Dates for CBA’s cannot be altered.

I wish you and your family all the best over the summer months.

Kind Regards,

Mr Kelly

Principal
