Poster Competition
Second and Third year students are participating in a Poster competition promoting their own language or a European Language as part of EDL celebrations. The winners of our 2021 EDL Poster Competition will be announced on Friday.
Table Quiz
First year students will take part in a EDL Table Quiz and do a project on a multilingual celebrity and research what languages they speak.
During the week, all our students will take part in various language related activities such as: watching videos of young poliglots around the world, famous celebrities talking about the experience learning other languages, understanding the science behind the brain function when learning other languages .
Students who speak other languages are asked to teach their class teachers and their peer students some of the basic introduction phrases in the language they speak.
Students will take part in a survey to establish how many languages are spoken in our school up to date.

Congratulations to all our students !
It has been great fun celebrating the European Day of Languages in our school on Friday 25th September 2020. We were very proud to take part in promoting linguistic diversity and achieving greater intercultural understanding in the multicultural environment of our school community.
Our survey of the school population, shows that there are around 20 languages spoken in our community!
In our classrooms we are encouraging our students to participate in lifelong language learning in and out of school. As a one to one device school, we take full advantage of learning languages through the use of ICT in our classrooms. For example, students were encouraged to try to participate in a language challenge this year by going beyond their comfort zone and learning a new language using apps such as Duolingo which is available on their iPad.
